First Aid for Tools
Winter is coming! This means that now may be the time to protect your tools over the cold weeks ahead.
By not just dumping your tools cold, wet, blunt and dirty in the shed you may be prolonging their life for years.
Tips:
1. Clean mud and grime off gardening tools.
2. Give them a wipe over with an oily rag (including wooden handles). This will help reduce the chance of damp damaging the tools over Winter.
3. Sharpen all your shears, secateurs, pruners, scissors and loppers. Sharp, clean blades not only make future cutting easier, but also help reduce the risk of diseases spreading between your plants.
A bit of first aid for your Alan Titchmarsh Garden Tools now will mean they last for years to come.
Titchmarsh's Folly
Alan's new novel Folly (his seventh) has been published and is available at all good book shops.
The new story centres around Jamie Ballantyne and Artemis King a couple who were never meant to fall in love. The feud between their families has run for three generations, but what they find out about themselves rocks the foundations of both their families when a web of deceit and intrigue is ruinously exposed.
If you don't want to just read Folly but want to buy a copy signed by the great man himself, then you can visit one of his book signings around the country. For details check: www.alantitchmarsh.com and look on the 'What's Happening' page.
